WHO CAN APPLY FOR ECREA SUMMER SCHOOL GRANTS Only ECREA members are eligible to receive Summer School grants. Candidates who are not members of ECREA must start membership application process. All successful applicants will be required to join ECREA before their acceptance onto the program is confirmed. In the grant review process, only applications of candidates who have been accepted to participate in the Summer School will be reviewed. HOW TO APPLY FOR ECREA SUMMER SCHOOL GRANTS Applicants are expected to complete and submit the application form in which they will be asked about their financial and institutional background as well as their motivation for applying. In the application letter, students should especially specify the reasons for why they should be awarded a grant. The focus should be placed on the stability of the doctoral position (financial support, time given to complete the PhD., etc.), the academic support (in terms of supervision and opportunities for structured feedback), international academic exposure, and all other topics that might seem relevant to the applicant. Download the application form in Word format. Please fill-in the application form and upload it in the application form. If you encounter any problems you can email the form to office@ecrea.eu. SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA The grants will be awarded based on a number of criteria. The primary aim is to make it possible for young scholars to participate in the summer school, who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate in a similar event. Evaluations will especially assess applicants’ access to financial or institutional resources. Furthermore, it will be considered in how far an applicant has opportunities to received qualified feedback by high-profile researchers and peers in a way the summer school provides. In the grant review process, only applications of candidates who have been accepted to participate in the Summer School will be reviewed. The applications for ECREA Summer School grants will therefore not be reviewed in terms of academic quality. The selection process will be carried out by Young Scholars Network – YECREA (regular grants and grants for Ukrainian Scholars) and ALAIC (grant for ALAIC member). IMPORTANT DATES
