MORE ABOUT ECREA

During the General Assembly that took place on 12-16 June 2023 online, the ECREA membership approved the newly established ECREA Ethics committee. Members of the Ethics Committee are:

Christopher Miles, United Kingdom (Chair of the Ethics committee)
Mirko Schäfer, Netherlands
Claudia Alvares, Portugal
Yazan Badran, Belgium
Carla Cerqueira, Portugal
Francois Heinderyckx, Belgium
Arianna Mainardi, Italy
Zrinjka Perusko, Croatia

The Committee's primary task is the creation of ECREA Ethics code. During November 2018 General Assembly, tentative use of The European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity by All European Academies (ALLEA) was approved. The Code addresses emerging challenges emanating from technological developments, open science, citizen science and social media, among other areas, and is divided in three parts:

  • Fundamental principles of research identity
  • Good research practices
  • Violations of research identity
